WattFigure answers one question well: what does this appliance actually cost to run, where you live?

Most answers to that question online are either a national hand-wave or a number with no stated assumptions behind it. This site publishes both halves — the official state electricity price and the exact usage assumption — on every page, and gives you a calculator to override them.

How it is funded

Advertising, and affiliate commissions when a link to a retailer leads to a purchase. Neither affects the numbers: every figure is computed from EIA data and the published assumptions, and no manufacturer pays to appear or to be recommended.

Corrections

If a usage assumption looks wrong, it probably is for some models — that is the nature of a typical figure. Specific corrections with a source are welcome at hello@wattfigure.com.
